Welcome,
I have been fighting for almost 19 years now, and turned
professional 7 years ago. I was a highly ranked amateur
boxer trying to qualify for the Olympics but on two
occasions I failed to do so, this was for the Atlanta
1996 and Sidney 2000 Olympics. I'm not the one to
complain, but it was personally hard for me failing the
qualifications for Sidney, as several of the fighters
I've previously beaten managed to qualify, and I felt I
had a good chance and perhaps a shot at a medal.
I then decided to turn professional, also to get out of
all the politics that I feel ruin the amateur boxing.
Now my goal is to become the World Champion. I am
currently progressing nicely, I will move towards a
European title first and then work my way up the
rankings for a World title.
Been married for 4 years and our second child was born
on the 14th of September 2006. His name is Oskar and is
a big boy, the biggest one ever born as a Walstad I
believe. I also have a daughter named Leona Marie, she
is my little princess. On the side I work in a mental hospital
and I'm
at school taking a degree as a psychiatric health
worker as this is something I see myself doing in life. |
